Tim "Ripper" Owens sings Sci-Fi

Syzygy's Science Fiction Mystery, "Who Am I?" is augmented in places by the former lead vocalist of Judas Priest, Tim Ripper Owens.  You can hear him in this clip:

There are more clips, including some humorous outtakes at:

Things are working a bit in reverse for this production, we see the bloopers first, so it's not possible to write a proper review yet; that will come later (though  I must admit bias on this project because friends are making it and I've had some involvment in it, ideas, writing for later in the season, and a painting on set for the background.)

For more information browse their Facebook, and see my 2010 blog about Who Am I? the show, which I've updated this year.

Do Science Fiction/Fantasy Fans Want Their Own Network?

The CEO of a new company called Syzygy is putting out this query to SF/F genre fans:
Dave Andrews :

“We have an opportunity to purchase a U.S. broadcast network to slowly convert into a SciFi/Fantasy network, with future plans to expand across the globe. However, professional investors are too slow and we don't have time to wait around for them.
So we're asking you, the fans, can we create a massive grass-roots effort to raise ten million dollars through donations from fans to make this purchase and begin buying the content we need to start its transition to SciFi? We would probably make it a combination of straight donations, and purchases of items like shirts saying "Bring Syzygy To Life" or some such.
Are the fans up to it? Do we, as a larger community, want it badly enough?
Before you answer quickly, this would be a MONUMENTAL undertaking, requiring a lot of dedicated people spreading the word and organizing groups in their local community to try to get this done. It would have to be done in an organized, conscientious manner that didn't come across as spamming. Friend to friend, rather than spamming masses of people you don't know. It would require the SciFi press to get involved, and many fan groups.
I want to put feelers out here to see if there's enough confidence in the fan community to make this happen.

It would be so cool if this could work.  I and other fans are frustrated with favourite shows being canceled  and bad attitudes and lack of support from current TV and network executives concerned only with profit.  Dave and his partner Scott are real fans who want to make this work and bring back old favourites and new original material that stays true to the genre.  These guys have been working like slaves, quit day  jobs to film their first original drama, and sweated over business plans and networking contacts to try to make this happen.
I’ve heard there are about thirty million Trekkies/Trekkers around the world, there must be about that many fans of the genre.  If only a million of us put in ten dollars each through product purchases  or donations  we could have our own network.  If you’re interested, let Syzygy and your fellow fans know.
